There are three categories of control:
No control.
Some control.
Complete control.
Be it building Notion templates, tweeting or writing, you have some control over the results, e.g., likes, followers, sales, subscribers, etc. because👇
You can’t choose your results, but you can do something to make them more possible.
Knowing this, it’s probably not a good idea to set goals on things you have no or some control over, e.g. get 1k followers by year end.
Such goals are good for setting a direction, but focusing too much on them distracts you from what you should actually be working on.
Instead, focus on goals you can have complete control over.

- Write 100 words per day, however ugly they are. What to write
- Learn how to build progress bars for your next Notion template instead of copying & pasting the formula.
- Record a walkthrough video for your next Notion template.

The Trichotomy of Control
Let's talk about control. In a recent video ( Life Advice - 50k subscribers Q&A), I alluded to the Stoic idea of how there are only two things we can control - namely our own thoughts and our own actions. I said that everything else falls in the realm of 'things we can't control'.
